Mary the Mother of Jesus "preserved - kept the things in her mind so they would not get lost" the things that she had heard and seen on their trip to Bethlehem and the events of Jesus' birth.

As mothers we don't always know how the puzzle of our child(ren) will fit together. If you son is totally God and totally man then the puzzle must be much more complex.

I love this verse because I have treasured so many things in my heart regarding the raising of my son. My God who knows his future past and present knows how these things will work out for his glory.

²¹Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple. ²²When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.
